Frequently Asked Questions

What is the typical legal process like?

Everyone wants to know what to expect. The problem is that no legal process is “typical.”

While proceedings can be similar, and while case lengths can have a limited range in some instances, every single case is different.

We encourage you to call us today to get a free consultation. This is another way to show you our tailored approach and reassure you that we will do our best to make sure you are informed and prepared every step of the way.

What Am I Able to Recover in a Personal Injury Claim or Lawsuit?

In most personal injury cases, you would recover money damages from the negligent party’s insurance company. The amount you recover will depend upon many variables, including the nature of your injuries, whether or not your injuries are permanent or disfiguring, the amount of your medical bills, the amount of your lost wages, the pain and suffering caused by your injuries, and many other factors, including how much insurance coverage the negligent party has available to pay a claim.

Call us today to get a free, personalized answer that is specific to you and your situation.

How long will my case take?

The length of a case, from the initial free consultation through to the resolution of the case by settlement or jury verdict, depends on several variables, so it is not possible to say exactly how long a case may take.

The duration of a case is often dictated by the individual court in which the case is filed. Some courts designate a time period for discovery of evidence by each party that may be a year or longer. Other courts have a backlog of cases and therefore, the oldest cases in a county will be considered before a more recently filed case. Though some cases do settle before going to court, a settlement would not usually occur until just before the scheduled trial.
